When to choose a full container — speed, control and fewer touchpoints

What is FCL?
FCL (Full Container Load) means your shipment occupies an entire container. It’s the preferred option when you want fewer touchpoints, faster handling, greater control, and cost efficiency at higher volumes.
Key Advantages
- Fewer handlings: Less consolidation/deconsolidation versus LCL.
- Speed: Typically quicker terminal throughput and inland delivery.
- Security: Dedicated container reduces exposure to other cargo.
- Cost at scale: More economical once you approach container capacity.
Common Container Sizes
Size | Typical Use |
---|---|
20ft | Dense, heavy cargo; reaches weight limits fast |
40ft | Lighter, bulkier cargo needing more space |
40ft High Cube | Extra vertical clearance for tall loads |
